Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Prison Release Date Changed

A significant update has emerged in the case of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records viewed by E! News, the music mogul’s projected release date has been adjusted. Combs, who is currently serving a 50-month sentence on prostitution-related charges, is now scheduled to be released on April 25, 2028.
The revised date marks a shift from earlier projections. When Combs was sentenced last year, his expected release was listed as May 8, 2028. That date was later pushed back to June 4, 2028, before being moved up to the newly reported April timeline.
At 56 years old, Combs remains housed at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, a low-security facility in New Jersey. He was transferred there in late October after initially being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York.
While the updated timeline brings his release slightly closer, the impact of the sentence has already been profound — both publicly and personally.
During his sentencing hearing, Combs delivered an emotional statement to the court, expressing remorse for his actions. According to NBC News, he described his past behavior as “disgusting, shameful, and sick.” He rejected the larger-than-life persona often associated with his celebrity status, telling the judge, “I am not this larger-than-life person. I am just a human being. I was trying my best. I got lost in excess and lost in my ego.”

The father of seven spoke candidly about the consequences of his decisions, acknowledging that his actions cost him his freedom and precious time with his children and his mother. “Because of my decision, I lost my freedom and the opportunity to raise my children and be there for my mother,” he said.
Observers in the courtroom reported that Combs became emotional as he addressed the judge. “I have been humbled and broken to my core,” he added. “I hate myself right now. I’ve been stripped down to nothing.” Through tears, he concluded, “I will never jeopardize my family. No matter what anybody says, I know now I am truly sorry for it all.”
The adjustment to his release date has sparked renewed discussion online about the case and its broader implications for celebrity accountability. Legal experts note that changes to projected release dates can occur for various administrative reasons, including recalculations related to sentencing guidelines or credit for time served.
For now, Combs continues to serve his sentence quietly at Fort Dix, away from the spotlight that once defined his career. Whether his eventual release will mark a comeback, a reinvention, or a permanent shift in public perception remains to be seen.
One thing is certain: the timeline has changed — and so has the life of one of hip-hop’s most influential figures.
