HR Exec in Coldplay ‘Kiss Cam’ Drama Says She Could Have Crossed Paths with Estranged Husband While at Concert with Boss

Kristin Cabot is sitting down with Oprah to open up about the internet-fueled controversy with her then-boss, Andy Byron, and what came after
Kristin Cabot is speaking out following renewed attention around a viral “kiss cam” moment at a Coldplay concert. The situation has drawn interest not just for what happened on screen, but for the personal context surrounding it.
In an exclusive clip from Cabot’s sit-down for The Oprah Podcast looking back at the “kiss cam” controversy that upended her life, she recalls how she and her spouse, Andrew, almost crossed paths when she was with Byron at the show in July 2025.
“I was walking into the concert and my daughter messaged me and said, ‘Oh it’s so great that you and Andrew are both at Coldplay,’ ” Cabot (who has two kids from a prior marriage) tells Oprah Winfrey in the interview. which will air Tuesday, March 17, on YouTube.
“So she let me know that my estranged husband was also at the concert,” Cabot says.
“And in my mind I thought, well that’s — is this going to be weird if he sees me with Andy [Byron]? Like … if I run into him,” she continues. “But then I was like, I’m in Gillette Stadium, there’s 55,000 people here, I’m probably not going to run into him.”
In hindsight, Cabot notes with a laugh, “That would have been better at the end of the day if I’d just run into him.”
But she maintained that her husband wouldn’t have been fazed to see her bond with Byron.
“He [my ex] knows how closely Andy and I worked together, he knows we socialized — like got lunches and got drinks. It was fine,” Cabot says.
“He knows the nature of my work and the way, the relationships — I’ve shared desks with the CEOs I’ve worked with,” Cabot continues, “like it’s just a very close relationship. And so it didn’t matter.”
During the concert, Cabot was seen in Byron’s arms. Footage of the moment, including Chris Martin joking from stage about a possible “affair” as Byron tried to hide from view, went mega-viral in large part because both were married at the time.
Cabot’s and Byron’s careers were derailed: They left Astronomer, the tech company where he’d been CEO and she was the chief people officer. Both of them were also briefly the focus of global coverage and scrutiny.
Now Cabot is sitting down with Winfrey to talk about the experience and what came after, including the barrage of criticism and even death threats that she faced.
As PEOPLE exclusively reported last year, Cabot was already separated from her husband when she went with Byron to the concert, where Cabot’s husband was on his own date.
Cabot, who has since filed for divorce, told The New York Times last fall that she believed Byron was also splitting from his wife at the time. He has never spoken publicly and has since been seen with his wife.
She previously told the Times that she and Byron did not have a sexual relationship and only kissed that night at the concert.
According a preview of the full interview with Winfrey, Cabot is expected to address the status of her relationship with Byron today and other topics.
The podcast appearance will be Cabot’s only on-camera interview, according to Winfrey.
Cabot and her publicist, Dini von Mueffling, will also speak at an event in Washington, D.C., in April about “taking back the narrative.”
